Yup, me mum called me Angus after Angus Young from AC/DC. She loved that band. She wanted me to grow up as a Rock ‘n Roll star but soon realized I can’t sing, no matter what autotune you put on me.

 

So it was 1995 and I was straight outta high school and straight outta cash. I worked the odd job in Australia but it was little Tommy Cruise that kept calling my name – come to America and make it big.

 

So I tried. I started in San Francisco and couldn’t make it big, couldn’t even rub two sticks together to start a fire. Feeling like a failure, I headed up north to Chico, California to work the vineyards as a grape picker – good money and no pressure.

 

After a while, I found another Aussie who told me about Austin, Texas and the bar scene. I went down there and man that was awesome. Good local bars, great music. Austin back in the late 90’s was just the right kinda place for me.

 

Well as it goes, I met a shiela called Sue and we started having lots of kids. Her parents were from Connecticut so we went cross country and I tried the big leagues once again – this time in the Big Apple.

 

Nope, failure number two for good ‘ol Angus and by then, Sue and her parents just didn’t like a drop out so I got the boot.

 

Somehow, after drifiting around like a swagman, twenty years later, I ended up on the Maryland/Pennsylvania border – still scouring for cash and the local gig and still not able to sing a note to save myself.

 

But, my failure is your win – I am a great bartender and can make a mean cocktail – without all that spinning stuff or any of the fancy stuff you see on TicTok. I love a good yarn and can tell my fair share of stories when the bar is quiet.

 

I do best at weddings or local events – where I can just be me and not pretend to be Tom Cruise.
